Training Jazz Ensemble

Training Jazz Ensemble is ideal for young people who are beginner and intermediate, this group is for players of approximately Grade 1-4.

If you don’t have your own instrument, please contact the Music Hub regarding hiring an instrument to use for the ensemble and to enable practice opportunities at home. Young people will discover music that is reflecting the wide range of Jazz styles, with emphasis placed on good ensemble playing and improvisation. The students will gain an understanding of elements of improvisation, develop good ensemble skills, aural ability, also through the improvisation element a deeper knowledge of functional harmony.
