Our talented young string players support installation ceremony of the new Tyne and Wear High Sheriff

NTMEH were honoured to be asked by Mr David Bavaird to take part in his special ceremony alongside Music Partnership North Newcastle in which he officially became the High Sheriff of Tyne and Wear for 2022- 2023.

The service on Thursday 7th April was attended by organisations across the community including councillors, MPs, Justice of the Peace, Police and local schools, to name but a few. The young people from 10 schools played as people gathered in Holy Saviours Church, Tynemouth and when the dignitaries arrived. The response from the attendees was fantastic.

The 20 young people played a mix of light classical pieces to suit the traditional occasion. Their playing was outstanding and they performed with confidence and professionalism. We are so proud of them and hope that this is an experience that will stay with them long into the future.

" I would just like to thank you all for performing at my installation service which made the service even more memorable and special. At the reception afterwards so many people told me how impressed they were with the quality of your performance and how special it was to see young people at this special event."

Mr David Bavaird - High Sheriff
