As well as our weekly groups and ensembles giving regular concerts throughout the year at venues such as The Exchange in North Shields, we also run and take part in a variety of local, regional and national events.

Spring Sing

Our week-long singing celebration for primary schools held each year at Whitley Bay Playhouse.

Soundfest

North Tyneside’s Got Talent

An evening of entertainment from young people and musical groups from North Tyneside schools and the local community.

Soundfest

A chance for bands and young musicians aged 11-18 to perform with the support of a professional sound crew outside Whitley Bay’s iconic Spanish City.  A panel of judges then choose a band to take their place on the main stage at the Mouth of the Tyne Festival.

Durham Vocal Festival Choir of the Year

An opportunity for choirs from North Tyneside schools to take part in a vocal competition held in Durham Cathedral.

North East Music Hubs Gala Concert at Sage Gateshead

A joint concert held with other regional music hubs to celebrate the fantastic musical opportunities and achievements of young musicians in the North East.

Rock Festival at O2 Academy

MPN Rock School at the O2 Academy

Bands and young performers aged 14 and above performing over two nights at the O2 Academy in Newcastle.

WB Ten Pieces Day

BBC Ten Pieces Project

Multi disciplinary performances of the most current BBC Ten pieces.

Singing

Snappy Operas project in partnership with Mahogany Opera

Performances by primary-aged children of short, specially commissioned operas. Head lice, sausages, counting sheep...it’s all in there!
